As I contemplated my daily readings, one of which came from Our Daily Bread and 1 Peter 2:9-17, I thought about how easily we are swayed in our beliefs and attitudes by those surrounding us. We, as believers, have to guard our emotions and actions, by thinking and praying before we act or react. It is simple, yet it is difficult to do--we automatically react, sometimes, regretting what we have said or done. So, what do we do in times of crisis? Stop, be still, pray, act--that "act" can be to give an opinion, walk away, or perform a deed. How less complicated our lives would be if we followed these steps and "Let God" before opening our mouths.
