He Rests Upon My Heart

Good Morning Saints!
I hope that you are feeling well and had a relaxing weekend. I worked this weekend and completed 200 bookmarks for a store in Malta, an island situated in the Mediterranean Sea, between Europe and North Africa.  It was a rewarding experience, but daunting;-)  This was a rather large order which I almost declined. But, I have asked the Lord to guide the work of my hands and I felt that this was a part of His answering my prayer. This brings me to the topic of the day: He rests upon my heart.  As I work through the ups and downs in my personal and business life, I realize that the ONLY saving grace that I possess, comes directly from the Lord. It makes me wonder how folks make it through the day without having an ongoing conversation with HIM. I try to take everything to God in prayer and strive to constantly thank and praise Him throughout the day. This is not how I have always handled my life-walk with Him, and as I grow closer to Him, I realize I have  not lived-up to my Christian potential. And, you know what? It doesn't make me sad. Instead, it makes me much more eager to walk closer and stay in His ways and paths. I just don't have time to sit and think about about what coulda', shoulda' or woulda' happened. And, I know the Lord would have me look forward, learning from my past, but not allowing it cripple my walk. The time to live is now, saints! Let's learn to let go and let God! May your day be blessed as you go about having your private conversations and seconds of on-going praise with the The Great I AM.

Scripture for the Day
Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God my exceeding joy,
and I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God.

Your Darkest Hour?

Good Morning Saints,
There are times when we feel that our Lord is slow in acting. But, you know what? He's always on time. Sometimes, we forget to ask for the discernment to understand His Time and Reasons. But, I am convinced that He always answers our prayers and holds us close to His Bosom in times of distress and heartbreak. I cannot imagine living my life without Him. How would I have made it this far, clothed in my right mind,  if it were not for Him? Even when I have been too blind to realize His Face, He has held me close. Take the time to think back over your life and reflect on the times the Lord has held you close. Maybe there have been times when you were in the midst of chaos, danger or death, itself. I bet you will feel His love, even in remembrance. Thinking about the times the Lord has "been our saving grace" is a form of intimate praise. So, let's praise in remembrance, today, saints. Be blessed!

Scripture for the Day
Ephesians 6:13-16 (New Living Translation)

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.  16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.

Speak Life.... Don't Give Up!

Good Morning Saints,
I've missed you! I took a few days off and have been working in my studio, steadily. Today, as I had my meditation time, I continued to come across passages that spoke to the power of our "mouths"--mostly, what comes out of our mouths. Now, I have addressed the power of our tongues a couple of times, but it seems that God continuously places this topic upon my heart. It may be for me or for you, but either way, I'm compelled to address the subject. For the last few weeks, I have been very watchful of what comes out of my mouth. And, you know what? A lot LESS comes out of my mouth, when I must stop to think before I speak. This has allowed me to speak "life" instead of "death" to my family, friends and strangers. I must say, it has changed my life--my thoughts--my desires--my deeds. I challenge you to do the same, Saints! Speak life to those around you or don't speak at all. It's a wonderful challenge that you can share with others, once you start practicing and enjoying its fruits for yourself. Be blessed!

Enjoy Yourself With Him!

Good Morning Saints,
This morning, I would like to discuss the dour and brimstone attitudes by some of our fellow Christians. This has always puzzled me. I'm sure that there is a component of their behavior and beliefs that I do not understand, but nevertheless, it bothers me when people elect to have a sad and morbid attitude when it comes to Christ. Now, don't get me wrong. I am saddened by the death of my Lord. But, on the other hand, I know that He died to save me and that creates a deep and everlasting joy in my soul. And, I have come to believe that my joy is given by my Lord and that it may not be taken away by the world. The world will always cause sorrow and pain--a secular type pain. But, love of the Lord and His love for us should give us unerring joy and a deep sensitive contentment, for He belongs to us and we belong to Him. Who would not find joy in that? It is written upon my heart, fluidly easing through my veins and serves as the cocoon that holds me close to His Being. I love Him and it shows. At times, I am mournful and it feels as though the weight of the world is upon my shoulders. At times, I mourn with my brothers and sisters as they go through a storm. But, mostly, I am content, sitting within the crook of my Father's arms, knowing that storm clouds may billow but He is mine. Lift someone, today, saints. In the midst of your pain, chaos or joy, make an effort to lift someone. You will be surprised at the lift you will receive in return. Be blessed and happy Friday!

Scripture for the Day
Romans 8: 38-40
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Gotta' Praise in My Heart!

Good Morning Saints!
You know how some days are just more clear and unclouded than others? This is one of those days for me and I hope that I can pass some of that inspiration and praise on to you. Today, I want to discuss praise and its mental and physical attributes. If you read medical journals(I love 'em!), you will find that there have been many studies about the recovery of patients and how their praising and positive attitude played a role in their recovery. Of course, doctors are stumped by this, as it can not be measured--it just "IS." HE just IS!!! I can be so down, tired and lost---but, praise has always been my medicine. It just relieves my mind, heart and soul. I can feel His Hands on me when I clamor to His shelter. This will never cease to amaze me. So, I leave you with a thought and task: Put a praise in your heart and hold on to it, all day long. When negativity is thrown your way, throw a "life-giving" smile, word or deed in its path. It works every time, because your LORD is in that smile, word and deed.  Be blessed and serve Him well, today! Blessings, Saints!

Hold Tight!

Good Morning Saints!
This morning, during my reading and meditation, I read an Our Daily Bread entry that spoke to our walk and how convenient it would be to regulate our walk like we regulate our appliances. The only problem is that we would never learn anything new, as we would pretty much stay in our comfort zone--I know I would! I need a fire to move me, most times. And, I'm not proud of the fact, either;-0 The author of this entry, Julie Ackerman Link, hit the nail on the head when she related that being in our comfort zone doesn't get the job done. Oftentimes, we must walk through the fire holding tightly to His Hand, in order to get the job done. So, saints, I challenge you to continue your walk, holding tightly to His hand and staying steeped in His Word, to get the job, appointed specifically for you, DONE.  There might be fire, but we can withstand it! And, when/if the time comes to remove you from the heat, He will. I can testify to this!  Until then, keep holdin' tight and walkin.' Blessings, Saints!

Isaiah 43:2 (New International Version, ©2010)

2 When you pass through the waters,
   I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
   you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

Telling Others About the Great I AM!!!

Good Morning Saints!
Have you thought about reaching out to others and bringing them into the fold? This can be quite intimidating for us, but it's something we have to do, when the time beckons. For me, the opportunity arises when someone wants to know why I am happy or pleased, especially in the midst of chaos. This is my cue to tell them about my Savior. No holds barred! At other times, I seek to live my life as an example for others--man, this is difficult! It's especially difficult when I am not focused on Him, but myself. So, I must stay in constant prayer and supplication. I hope that you, too, will look for opportunities to tell others about the Great I AM. Tell me how you go about telling others about our Lord. We all need to learn from others. Blessings, saints!

Is Jesus a Slot Machine for Wishes and Petitions?

Good Morning Saints!
I hope you had a great weekend. I worked in my studio and tried to create beautiful and prayer-filled items for my customers. But, overall, I made sure that I was rested and ready for another week of love and inspiration! Today, I want to discuss the beauty of being able to ask our Lord for anything. In Luke 11, we are told:

9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Now, in your mind, does that mean that we are able to ask for anything and it magically appears? If you read the whole chapter and referring chapters on asking and receiving, you will notice that each time our Lord uses an example of receiving, it is for an essential--a need--helping others, and so-on. When you are in accordance with His Word, meditating on Him, and trying to fervently walk in His Light, your petitions become genuine and in line with His Kingdom. I have heard people say that you just need to ask for this or that, and you will receive it. But, my question is whether or not you are asking in accordance to His Will. As you grow closer to the Lord, you will find that your petitions are aimed toward bringing you and others into His Kingdom, more than on acquiring "things" to make you happy(because your happiness becomes intermingled with Him). I believe many material things are given to us, but that we don't see them as necessities, as we grow closer in our walk. I try to use my material resources to help others and myself, during this journey. Now, I don't always have this in mind when I start out on a particular mission, but if I stay steeped in His Word, my limited little eyes will be opened and I will be granted "sight" for my next steps. Stay steeped and continue to ask for His grace, saints!

Scripture for the Day

1 Corinthians 2:12-16 (New International Version, ©2010)

12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.[a] 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 for,
“Who has known the mind of the Lord
   so as to instruct him?”[b]
But we have the mind of Christ.

Our Time is Not Promised-Let's Get to Walkin'

Hey Saints,
This is a video that touched my heart! Many of you have probably seen this video, but it was new for me. Take care and let's get to work!

Rockin' with the Greatest!

Good Afternoon Saints!
I hope you had a pleasant morning. I had a hectic, but blessed morning and did not have the time to post---had to take care of family and get a few EBay orders delivered.  This will be short and sweet;-) Everyday, I listen to gospel and jazz tunes of praise. And, one phrase that I hear over and over, again, but not in these exact words, is: "Rockin' with the Great "I Am."  I love this saying and will introduce it on my next bookmark and other praise items. I hope y'all are rockin' with Him, today! Blessings and have a safe weekend. Much Love!

New Journey....

Morning Saints!
Have you ever felt like it was time for you to do something new? Maybe, you felt like you weren't reaching your full potential. Well, I definitely felt this way a few years ago and I made a change; a drastic change. It shocked everyone--my family, included. I was an educator for around 20 years and became an administrator for the last 2 years. The last few years were not pleasant. To make a long story short: I needed to make a change-a drastic change! Most people that knew me did not understand this change, but it had to happen. Am I sorry? NO! I love creating and crafting for the Lord. I feel that it is part of my purpose and I do not expect anyone else to understand, for what He gave to me, He gave to me, only. It may look funny, smell funny, feel funny, but it's all mine--my gift to be shared with those who see the Light that He has given me. All of us have a gift to be shared with others. And, in our hearts, we know when the gift is genuine--when it has served its purpose---when it's time to move forward to the next step. Do not be discouraged or dismayed by the comments or obstacles set in your way by those that  do not understand. Stay focused on your gift and stay steeped in the Word! Walk on! Blessings!

Scripture for the Day

1 Timothy 4:14-16 (New International Version, ©2010)

14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

Craft/Writing for the Day(New Journey Prayer)
Dear and Precious Lord,
I bow my head in surrender,
as I ask You to raise me,
so that I will have the courage
to begin
a journey that I have been
dreaming of...
the dream of helping and lifting others and being able to withstand the obstacles that will surely stand in my way.
Please, tame the fear of being cast aside and trampled by those that hold contempt for kind hearts.
I know that if You are with me,
no one can be against me.
Yet, I grow weary and tired thinking about the trials to come.
Lift me, dear Lord,
as You have done
 so many times before.
Please, continue to carry me when
I want to give up.
Set me upon a pedestal
of love and hope,
that I might continue to do
Your good works
and bring glory to Your Kingdom.
In Your Holy Name.  Amen.

Have You Been Fed?

Morning Saints!
It's a beautiful cold morning in Denver! Have you been fed, yet? You know, spiritually fed? Well, you have to eat your daily dose of the Word and have your personal meditation and prayer, in order to stay steeped in His Ways. Yes, you must fill your cup with the Word, to move onto the path that He has placed before you.  Day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute, He is there, waiting for you to come to Him so that He may fill your cup. Remember, it is a thorny path, but what makes His Way so wonderful is the Balm that He lovingly places on our bumps, bruises and cuts. It's a  balm like no other--the world cannot give it to you, only Him. Some may think that they definitely do not want to take a path that is so wrought with pain and possible causalities, but His Way is the way to life---that sweet everlasting life that is written upon our hearts. We must seek Him and He will hold us, carry us and be the Balm in Gilead. Why is our Lord often referred to as Balm? Read this interesting tidbit about Gilead's balm:

The balm of Gilead is one of them. The region of Gilead was noted for its balm, a secretion of the balsam tree. The territory where the balm came from, an area North of the Salt Sea in theland of Israel, was originally given by God to Manasseh as an inheritance when the children of Israel entered the promised land. The balm was used in various healing mixtures, and was sold to many countries, especially Egypt:
"And they sat down to eat a meal.  Then they lifted their eyes and looked, and there was a company of Ishmaelites, coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices, BALM, and myrrh, on their way to carry them down to Egypt." (Genesis 37:25, NKJV and emphasis throughout)
"Is there no BALM in GILEAD, is there no physician there?  Why then is there no recovery for the health of the daughter of my people?" (Jeremiah 8:22)
"Go up to Gilead and take BALM, O virgin, the daughter of Egypt;  In vain you will use many medicines;  You shall not be cured." (Jeremiah 46:11)

So, saints, I bid you blessings for the day, as you go about helping and healing hearts. Walk in His Light! Blessings!

God's Property

Good Morning Saints,
Boy, do we have snow, here, in Denver--about 8 inches, since I closed my eyes to sleep;-) !!!! Today, I want to discuss God's Property-You! I believe that we all have the ability to belong to God. He loves us an acknowledges us. However, I do not believe we all acknowledgement our Him, thereby choosing other gods.  If we are His property and acknowledge this great privilege, how are we showing it, living it, feeling it? Can others look at our lives and feel that they want to "walk the walk" and "talk the talk" that we are walking and talking? Now, I don't mean to say that we have to be perfect, because that is just not possible and is a totally ignorant and arrogant stance to take. However, we are perfect in His eyes if we dedicate our lives to Him, for He knows the briar bushes and thorns that we have encountered and will encounter. If you read the numerous stories in the Bible you will find that the His children were imperfect, just like us. Let's hold our heads high, stay steeped in His Word, and keep our hearts humble as we walk this walk with our LORD, for we are His Property! Be blessed!

Scripture of the Day
Matthew 21:20-22
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither away so soon?" 21 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. 22 "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Count It All Joy!

Good Morning Saints,
I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. If you didn't, you will have to find a way to count it all joy--easier said than done.... When we look back at our pasts and look ahead at our futures, sometimes, it's difficult to see clearly what we have endured and what we must continue to endure. A friend of mine has a child who is mentally and physically challenged. She needs attention 24 hours a day. Although she could place her child in a facility, she chooses to keep her at home. Yes, it is a major job, but she would rather have her child by her side than at a facility. Sometimes, she wonders why God created her child this way and other days she praises  Him for giving her this beautiful child. Whenever we discuss her hardships, she says that she is learning to "count it all joy," one day at a time. Although she and I are the same age, she looks much younger and has so much more energy. She always laughs and tells me that she doesn't have time to get old because she has to take care of her child. Wow! She is my hero! Do you know someone who has a burden to bear and wears it  like a beautiful cloak? If  only we all could wear our burdens like my friend! Let's all learn from her and count it all joy! Be blessed, saints!
