The Power in You Through the Lord

Good Morning Saints!
Today, many people have the holiday off. Here, in Denver, the temperature is nice---a sweet taste of summer! My flowers are finally blooming, slowly, but steadily. This morning, my heart rests upon the power the Lord allows us, in order to plant the Seed of Life within others. I believe that we are given a great amount of God-given power to open the door to His Kingdom for other brothers and sisters. This power is not something that we can see--it's a feeling a "knowing," but very real, all the same.  Remember when Silas and Paul prayed, after being thrown into prison(Acts 16:23-26)?  The earth shook, loosening their shackles and opening the prison doors. The Bible tells us that this was the Presence of the Lord!  What a wonderful and Awesome Power!

Have you ever been in the midst of trouble or turmoil with no where to run, no where to hide and, all of a sudden, you are rescued? I have! I'm a living testimony to the power of the Lord when we bow down and place our situation in His hands. He delivers--we must believe! It is up to us, to enter into prayer, praise, His Word and meditation, in order to understand, accept and act upon the Will of the Lord. All He asks is that we come to Him--believe in Him--walk with Him--Be with Him--so little is asked of us.

I try to walk with the Lord every day, all day, and I must admit, it takes a "conscious heart" to stay on His path. At times, the temptations are many and look so much more lucrative than what the Lord has placed before me. I may stray, but my eyes are opened and what I thought was so much better, before, turns to fodder before my eyes. So, saints, stay on His path--it's righteous and paved especially for you. May you stay blessed and in His capable arms, using the power allowed to you, to help yourself and others into His Kingdom.

I Trust God

Good Morning Saints!
The weather, here in Denver, feels pleasant and sunny. I hope it lasts! I'm so ready for summer;-) Today, my heart is placed upon the subject of trust. We all profess to trust God, but I believe we should really think about what it means to trust in God. Oh, it is easy to say you trust God and profess His goodness and mercy when you are well-feed, content, clothed, employed/monied, surrounded by love-ones, and have a place to lay your head. But, do we really trust Him to supply all of our needs? This is something we must sit on the table and examine, daily. We must trust Him in good and bad times. How many times have we been hit with tragedy, sickness, worry, abuse(mental/physical), and all manner of iniquity---and, immediately felt hopeless or crushed? Honestly, I must say a few of these "shadows" have been placed upon my doorstep and I have reacted as though I didn't have a God. Now, eventually, I came to my senses and realized that the circumstances had gotten the best of me. I have quickly stepped back onto the path of love, hope and faith. As I have grown in His Word and Ways, I tend to look to God in times of need and times of joy--I just look to Him, period! This growth has allowed me to "see" His Hand of love in the midst of chaos. I believe that our trust grows through trials and tribulations. Let us not just say that we have trust in Him.  Instead, let's examine and nurture our trust in the Lord. We must be fed by His Word and stay steeped in prayer and meditation. Let's practice trust, saints.

Scripture for the Day
Philippians 4:11-12
For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Healing for My Soul

Good Morning Saints,
Have you ever felt like you needed healing for your soul...so troubled by this world and its sicknesses that you knew the only One who could heal you was the Lord? Listening to the news, filled with sinful, hurtful and heartbreaking occurrences, can bring mourning to your soul. In fact, just living your life, day to day, and striving to live according to His Will and Ways, can take its toll, also. But, I am here to share with you, that the striving and the toil is worth the trouble. In the end, you feel better about your choices and your actions, knowing that your suffering was not only tolerable, but brought an one-of-a-kind comfort from the Holy Spirit. If you have ever felt an overwhelming sense of comfort, love and wellness, in the midst of your storm, then you know the capabilities of the Holy Spirit....utterly indescribable and sacred. I challenge you to encourage each other today, as well as ACCEPT encouragement from one another. May the Lord bless your shoulders, so that you may not only bear the burdens of living, but be able to shout, "Hallelujah!," in the eye of your storm. Blessings, saints!

Scripture for the Day
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46:1-3)

With Outstretched Hands

Good Morning Saints!
Today, we face another week of work, in one form or fashion. Workin', workin', workin'.... What's new? We all need to work, as it is good for the mind and soul. As you go about your day, remember to ask your Heavenly Father to bless the work of your hands, the words flowing from your mouth, and the thoughts that capture your mind. It is so very easy to allow unhealthy thoughts and actions into our lives if we are not careful. You may have all sorts of trials, ignorance and deceitfulness thrown into your path, but with your mind fixed on Jesus, you can overcome, stomp, and move around these daily stumbling blocks. God's children must be ready to fight at any given moment. The forces of iniquity do not take a break. Today, I challenge you to keep your mind steeped in thoughts of praise and thanksgiving, with outstretched hands to the Lord and the work He has placed before you.  The Lord will rescue your heart and thoughts and set you upon a path of righteousness. Just keep your eyes on the prize of  His Kingdom. Be blessed, saints!

Scripture for the Day

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritualact of worship.

The Living Word Sent to Save Us!

Good Morning Saints,
It is a good morning, in spite of our daily tasks and worries. Gotta' lay that "stuff" down and look to our faith, love and hope, for this is the foundation of our souls, gifted to us through the Lord's grace. So, we move forward in our daily walk, holding our heads high and our shoulders straight, looking into face of our Father and believing in His promises for our lives. Every once in a while, we must reach back into our souls, stay still and listen to our Father. His plan is the only plan that we can count on. Right? You know I'm right, saints. Without His direction and guidance, we tend to become self-absorbed and spin our wheels. Even in our success, we will feel empty and unsatisfied. That emptiness can only be filled by our Father. We can possess everything that man deems necessary for success and still be unhappy and thirsty. That thirst can only be quenched by the Holy Father--the Living Water for our souls. Saints, take the time to stay steeped in His Word, pray and meditate, for this is Our Daily Bread. I pray that you and yours will be blessed, today, in spite of life's tumultuous waves. Remember, to stay in the crook of His arm, as you go along your path, today. Blessings!

Keep Breathing!

Real zeal is standing still and letting God be a bonfire in you.

Good Morning Saints!
I hope this morning finds you feeling well and steeped in prayer. Today, I have my hands full with life. But, that's okay because I'm fed in His Word and willing to step into the cow patties, in order to reach the prize(His Kingdom). Sometimes, I become weary with living and the day-to-day tasks, but I always refocus my thoughts and my tasks to reflect His glory, in one way or another. Just the orther day, I was reading Grace in Every Season by Catherine Doherty, and came across a daily reading, titled, "Ordinary Daily Life."  Oh, how beautiful and touching her words were to my soul! It was a cleansing and balm to my thoughts, giving me the fortitude to move forward and look upon my tasks as my Father's business. We are to do everything that is required of us, as if we are doing it for our Father. Most of the time, this is how I look at my daily walk, but, sometimes, weariness sets in, and that is when I know that I am behaving "like a bird on the ground, using my legs to get around." Every once in a while, we have to remember that the LORD provided  beautiful "wings" for us to use:-) So, saints, I challenge you to stay steeped in His Word, prayer and meditation, in order to refocus and rejuvenate your walk with The Great I Am!

Easy Does It!

Good Morning Saints,
I don't know about you, but I am learning to take it easy when it comes to building my faith and walking with the Lord. For the past few years, I have felt this urgency to learn as much as possible about the Bible and my walk. And, I believe that there was a reason for this. Of course, I don't know the reason, yet. But, recently, after much prayer and meditation, I have been led to slow down and understand all that I have learned. When I think about this, it makes sense. You can have all of the knowledge and all of the right answers, and still be confused as to what you need to do, personally, in your walk. Now, I'm not saying we should slow down in our good works, but we need to slow down, as far as understanding and listening to the Lord. Our walk  is important to the Lord. He loves each and every one of us, very dearly. Wouldn't you want your child to walk and talk with you? I love my children--how much more does the Lord love us? It blows my mind to think about it;-) Be blessed and take it easy in your walk. Talk to you next week. Have a great weekend!

Scripture for the Day

Why Do You Believe in God?

Morning Saints!
This morning I would like to discuss where we find God. As we walk through this life, people tend to ask us serious questions about God and why we believe. Now, for most us, we may reply that God and His love are written upon our hearts.... The very essence of being is God's breath upon us. We feel Him, hear Him, and see Him in everything around us. But, what do we tell a nonbeliever or someone struggling to believe? This is a question that has more than one answer. From my personal experience, the best way to answer the questions posed about Christianity, is to make sure your answers are Biblically based. In other words, know your Bible. Know that your words and explanations are being judged---ask the Lord for discernment before you answer, for your thoughts are flawed. I always let my guard down when talking to people who are questioning my belief in Christ, as this seems to put them at ease and allow me to answer in sincerity. I tell them about the day I actually accepted Christ and how my mind and heart were opened. I also have favorite scriptures that I like to share. Lately, I have thought about having a few Bibles on hand to offer to others. Let me know how you have answered these questions about your faith. Share your answers with us, so that we may become better equipped. Many blessings, saints!

Scripture for the Day

Ephesians 6:10-20 ESV

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, ...

Working While You're Resting and This Week's Giveaway

Good Morning Saints!
Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day. I did--had all my peeps around me--surrounded by love and joy. And, I don't take it for granted, as my circumstances could change within a blink-of-the-eye. But, I am thankful for the moments and time that we share together, as a family. Today, I am supposed to take the day off. Right! If you are anything like me, you like to do "fun" work when you take the day off from your "daily" work. This brings to mind the issue of work and diligence. Like the ant, if we want to achieve a goal, we have to continue to work with due diligence. As you go along your way, today, think about the ant and how you apply these same principles to your life and daily work. I am off to do playful work, today. May your cares and worries be out-numbered by the daily blessings poured upon you and yours!

Scripture for the Day
Proverbs 6:6-8 (New International Version, ©2011)

 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
   no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

Easily Said and Difficult to Practice: Love

Good Morning Saints!
Love is easy to talk about but it is difficult to practice. This is especially true in difficult times and situations. Take the time to think back over your life concerning times of turmoil and pain.... If you are truthful and honest with yourself, you will find that you had to reaffirm your love for people who have disappointed or hurt you, whether they be family, friends or co-workers. But, this is exactly what we are called to do, according to 1 John 3:18. If we love each other, truly, we cover each other at all times. Truthfully, I can say, that this has not been the case in every situation in my life, as it is so much easier to love those who love you. Think about it! Do you find it easier to love those who think like you...look like you...practice the same religion as you...have the same political affiliation as you...cater to you...are there for you...? Of course, it's easier, but it's just not right! We must TRY to love others even when we have NOTHING in common with them, for we are Christ's children and we can not spread the Good Word when we are opposed to loving people that do not "fit" our preconceived molds. Why am I speaking to this? Well, we must look within and cleanse our souls, daily, so that we can walk a better walk with our Lord. We must always strive to be better than what we were the day before, with the understanding that we will never be completely cleansed, but that we should continue to work toward this goal---this goal of loving and covering each other. Be blessed, saints, and take a good look at your heart. Many Blessings!

Loving Our Families and Growing Amidst Conflict

Good Morning Saints,
Today, my heart is stuck on families--our kids, husbands and wives. Many of us have families and can attest to the joys, heartaches, conflict and love that goes into keeping our families intact. When people are involved, there will be conflict, no matter how much we try to avoid it. You see, I like to smooth things over and avoid conflict. Now, sometimes, that is the right thing to do. But, at other times, conflict and disagreement are necessary in order to get to the bottom of the situation and allow feelings to be placed upon the table for all to see. This includes the feelings of your children, also. They count, too! Conflict and disagreement can lead to new understandings of each other, or it can lead to isolation and loneliness. Make sure you are "prayed-up" and ask for God's direction when handling your families. When you are "covered" by the Lord, all he** can break loose, but you and yours will stay intact. You will experience peace in the face of conflict and find joy in the "new eyes" through which you see your family. People grow and change, which is something we must accept and welcome. After all, you can not grow without changing and wearing new lenses through which you see yourself and others. So, families, I challenge you to let go of old hurts, welcome change and growth, move forward in your quest to love each other, and strive to see each other like our Heavenly Father sees us--with love in His eyes and heart. May you and yours be blessed, today and for many tomorrows. Blessings!

Scripture for the Day
Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Stand Still and Wait

Good Morning Saints,
Spring has finally peeked into Colorado, but I am not counting on warm days, as it could snow any minute. In fact, it snowed a few days ago;-) Last night, while reading my Bible and meditating on Him, I realized how difficult it is to "stand still" and wait upon the Lord. If you are like me, you like to make things happen-move forward-find a solution. But, truly, the only real solutions to our problems and daily situations, come from the Lord. When we figure out our solutions without the intervention of the Lord, it's like placing a Band-Aid on a torn ligament. Yep, we're limited and we need to recognize it. When we recognize the narrowness of our minds and hearts, the Lord can work tremendous miracles through us. Realizing that all of us house blotches of sin and ignorance upon our hearts, despite the good-works, prayers, or accolades we may have on our sleeves, opens our eyes and hearts to the Lord and each other.  If your heart belongs to Him, you cannot spew hate and ignorance, for it is against everything He stands for. Let's stand still and allow Him to work. Let's allow our opinions of each other to stand still, in the knowledge that we cannot see, nor can we handle the whole picture. Let's still our tongues, unless they are to bring forth fruit for His Kingdom. Let's stand still and act when our hearts have been given to Him. Standing still and holding your tongue has to be a deliberate act. Take it from me: It's difficult! Blessings, Saints!

Scripture for the Day
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shallrun, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

This Week's Giveaway and Giving of Yourself

Good Morning Saints!
Many of you, like myself, love to give of your time and resources. Sometimes, we may get tired, and that's okay. We need to take the time to refuel on the Word and meditate. This allows us to go-strong for the Lord and keep our mind, body and soul in check. Today, as was doing my daily readings and meditations, I found it difficult to concentrate-my mind popping over to what I needed to accomplish. However, I know that without His Hand in my work, I always come-up short. This is why I feel it is important to plant the Word in our hearts daily. When the Word is planted, it grows into edible fruit for the soul. We achieve deeds that we never thought possible. The power and wonder of His Word will never cease to amaze me. We will always have to fight the flesh, and we will always need His assistance. May your day be blessed, saints!

Scripture for the Day
Your word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
