Trying to Stay in His Path

Good Morning Saints,
It is a good morning, indeed! I have the love of the Lord in my heart and I know that I am blessed beyond my own understanding. That's enough to make me jump for joy and praise His Holy Name. Today, as I read my daily readings and Scriptures, I meditated upon the paths that we choose and how we struggle to stay upon those paths. Many of us know about spiritual warfare, but do we take the time to figure out the part it plays in our lives and paths? Well, we should, because we all have a war to fight; especially the war of complacency. We can never become complacent in our faith and love for the Lord, for our faith and love should be alive and ever-growing while we are clothed in our right-minds.  We should always be diligent in our praise, prayer, reading and meditation, for there is much to be learned and more to be done.

Challenge: Ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse the dead spirit of complacency from your lives and renew your faith every day. Blessings, saints!

Scripture
1 Timothy 1: 5
The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

When Your Best Isn't Good Enough

Good Afternoon Saints!
I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Our lives are what we make them, so make yours wonderful. Lately, I have been thinking about the former statement, and how I can apply it to my life on a daily basis. Every day, we strive to give our best to our families, jobs, friends and churches. And, this is just a short list of our responsibilities! As we extend ourselves and give our best, we may feel that we are not appreciated and that our best is just not good enough. That's the rub. So, what's the solution?

The solution is in how we approach the situation. Do we approach it with prayer, meditation and an open heart? Or, are we looking for a pat on the back from those around us? These questions need serious consideration. Approaching our daily lives in prayer, meditation and an open heart, takes faith and determination. When we are giving of ourselves because the Lord has tugged our heart strings to do so, is totally different than giving for recognition or self-fulfillment. The Lord's calling is spiritual food for our souls and causes us to be satisfied  Just the mere service to others becomes a balm for our hearts and souls. We serve to become more like our Father and to sit at His feet. So, the next time you feel unappreciated and unrecognized, align your thoughts with "why" you are serving and your soul will be uplifted and fulfilled. This is my testimony. Be blessed, saints and continue your journey with the Lord.

Scripture
1 Peter 4: 10-11

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
