A Chance to Testify! Let's Raise the Roof!

Good Morning Saints!
Oh, am I busy! The Lord has blessed me with a great deal of orders from my shops on Etsy and EBay, as well as my local customers, here, in Denver. Yes, I have prayed and asked Him for help with my new business. I am spreading The Good News and inspirational words/sayings through my paper arts.  Am I blessed in what I do? YES!  We are all blessed to be able to give of ourselves, to others. Your giving may be through your writing, art, spoken words or humble spirit, to name a few manifestations. Just remember to give something back every single day and you will feel a difference in your outlook on life.

I am so thankful and ready to receive His blessings!! Although helping my business is a small "thing" to ask for, my God is blessing me and I am sending Him the sweet incense of my prayers and thankfulness, awaiting His instructions for my next steps. Yep, I'll stay still until I feel the Holy Spirit move upon my mind, body and soul. If that means no work in my art studio, then so be it. I may become antsy, but I know that my work will amount to nothing in His Eyes, until I wait for His guidance. I try never to cease in my prayer and thanksgiving, as He is worthy and it is my PRIVILEGE to praise Him. How many of you feel blessed and loved? I want to hear from you! Let's raise our thanks and testimonies up to Him by testifying to each other. We need each other! You know, the Bible says that our thanks and prayers are as a sweet incense to our Lord. Let's send it up to Him, saints! Send me your testimonies and blessings. Let's go with the thanks!

Scripture for the Day
Psalm 141:2
Let my prayer be set forth as incense before You, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

All Things are Possible!

Good Morning Saints!
This morning my heart and soul are full of praise and thanksgiving, in spite of pains, heartaches and crises. We will always, as followers of His Word, have concerns and worries. If our concerns are not for ourselves, they are for others. When your heart is filled with the Lord, we cannot help but care about each other.  However, as believers, we have Someone to take our concerns to: The Lord! This old world may try to beat us down, but we have the Lord on our side and we will prevail, in life and death, for no principality may separate us from Him. This is one of my mantras in times of trouble. It doesn't matter if it is little trouble or big trouble, I believe we should take it all to God in prayer. Just the submission of our cares and worries, is a way for us to talk to the Lord. He is there waiting for us to bring our hearts and souls to Him, as no one else can truly cure or help what ails us. May your day be blessed and full of His grace, saints! Carry on!

Scripture for the Day
Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Toubled Times, Move!

Good Morning, Saints!
This morning, my mind and heart rests on moving around during your time of unrest or trouble. Sometimes, when we are bothered by life's situations, we tend to become depressed and listless. But, it seems to me that this is the perfect time to surround yourself with positive thoughts, prayer, Scripture reading and exercise. The scripture from   Psalm 46:10, comes to mind, as the Lord tells us to be still and know that He is in control. Yes, be still in trying to solve your problems on your own--you can't do it. But, live your life! Get out and talk to others, join prayer groups, exercise.... This is your testimony that you might be shattered but not broken. Let other believers know that you are "going-through" but have faith that your Father will build a back strong enough for you to carry your burdens. So, saints, I challenge you to stay active in your prayer, Scripture reading, exercise and communication with other believers, during your time of trouble or distress, as this is the ultimate testimony to those around you, that your God lives! We are survivors!

Scripture for the Day

Psalm 46:10

New International Version (NIV)

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Staying Positive!

Good Morning, Saints!
It's another beautiful day, here, in Denver. I hope to get out into my flower gardens this evening, after working in my studio. I have quite a few local orders and need to get going! Actually, I was working before I came upstairs to write my blog entry:-)

This morning, my heart sits on "staying positive." Sometimes, it can be difficult to keep a skip in your step, a blossom in your mouth and a smile on your face. Many times, people will remark about how positive and cheerful I am.... Well, let me set the record straight: That is not the case, every day. Just like everyone else in this world, I become bothered and down. Tragedy comes my way and sorrow seeps in. However, the harder the trial, the deeper the prayers--that's a spiritual motto I try to adhere to, in times of sadness. I am confident that our Father knows the deepest pain, secrets and regrets that are harbored within our hearts. He loves us and is always ready for us to come to Him for shelter and endurance. So, when you see me smiling, it's because I have taken my cares, worries and sorrows to the Lord, in prayer. That smile is not of me; it is of the Holy Spirit that my Lord has sent to comfort me. He will send it if we ask. The key word here is, "ASK." You can't take care of your life all by yourself! You can try, but when the flood gates open, you better watch out! So, stay steeped in His Word and in His Arms, and He will rejuvenate the skip in your step, the blossom in your mouth, and the smile on your face! Blessings, saints!

Casting the First Stone

Good Morning Saints!
It's bright and beautiful, here in Denver~ I love the summers, here. They are bright and crisp, instead of humid and muggy;-) But, let me tell you, you can get sunburned in a minute!

For the past few days, I have been thinking about incidents in my life and in the lives of my family and friends, that have caused stress, pain and heartache. You know, we say we have faith and believe that our Lord is bigger than our problems, but I tend to think it takes "active/living" faith to hold on during stressful times. As I look back over my life, I realize that what I thought was faith and dependence on the Lord, was sometimes(not all of the time) "turning away" from the problem. When I turn away, I don't learn--I just ignore and store-up resentment. Now, I believe we should turn our worries and cares over to the Lord, but I believe He wants us to endure, learn and grow stronger in our faith and walk during our trials. We cannot handle our problems, efficiently, alone.

Many times, I have thrown "stones" when I felt threatened or hurt. And, believe-you-me, they have been the biggest, heaviest and sharpest stones I could find. I'm not proud of this! Who can be proud of hurting another just as badly as they have hurt you? Who can be proud of throwing stone-for-stone? Who can be proud of casting any stone?  If we all had a pile of stones in front of us, to use whenever someone hurt us, we would all be stoned to death. Yep! Every single one of us--the good, the bad, the indifferent--because we have all hurt someone, in thought, word or deed, even if we were unaware or didn't "mean it like that." As I have grown more active in my faith and walk, I've noticed that, more often than not, I will pick up a nice perfect stone, rub it, toss it around in my hands, get a good feel for it, sigh, pray, ask for the Holy Spirit's guidance, and put it back in the pile. Whew! Almost threw that puppy, but decided to "LISTEN," instead. This "going-through" has saved me and others from ignorant and needless turmoil. Yes, I have let them know that I wanted to stone them, which has opened up a purposeful, meaningful and much-needed dialogue. You see, vengeance is not ours(Romans 12:19). If anything is to be avenged, it should be done by the Lord, not us! We just get too excited and start throwing stones everywhere!

So, saints, let's make sure, as we grow in our faith and follow His Path more closely, that we try to become passers-by of the stone piles, instead of gatherers. Oh, it will be difficult, at times, but that's why Jesus died for us, that we would be covered/forgiven and have the strength to overcome our trials--with scars, but more faith and love. Let's help others to see that throwing stones hurts everyone--even those just walking by.  Our stone-throwing leaves bruises on others and burns on our fingers. Blessings, saints!

19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[a] says the Lord.

Stay Connected to Jesus

Good Morning Saints!
I hope you are faring well, this morning! It's overcast in Denver and it's a great day to get out in the garden to weed and plant. Today, my heart takes me to the subject of "connectedness." It is important to stay connected to Christ in calm and turbulent times. I say this because we tend to run into His arms in times of trouble, but it is even more sweet to rest in His arms when you are not stressed and feeling scared/hopeless. I can testify to this. It is so sweet and soothing to concentrate on the Savior and bask in His Holy Presence. Try it! You'll love it--I promise! The Lord is just waiting for us to commune with Him and share our thoughts, prayers and love with Him. Yes, He knows everything we think, do and desire, but He wants us to "talk to Him" and "listen to Him"- Jeremiah 29:11-13.

When we are stressed, we tend to concentrate on ourselves, but when we are calm we are a little more open to listening. I believe that the Lord speaks to us, when we are meditating on Him. Yes, we should continue to read His Word, but we must also stay still long enough to pray and listen to Him. I encourage you to stay connected to the Lord and feed your spiritual life with His food for thought. It is the best food that you have ever tasted--indescribably delicious!  Your life...mind, body and soul, will flourish and become an extension of His love. Be blessed, saints!

Scripture for the Day

John 10:27-29

New International Version (NIV)
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[a]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

Joking at the Expense of Others

Good Morning Saints,
Recently, I overheard a person joking about the sensitivity of another employee. This really got me to thinking about our jokes and the words that come from our mouths. Now, jokes are okay, as long as they are not hurting someone, I guess. Jokes aren't my thing, as I feel we have plenty to cajole and laugh about when we take a good look at ourselves;-)

If you have to apologize to someone after you tell a joke, you should probably take into account that your joke is really another way of being cruel--you know, funny cruel. Now, if you're walking in His Light and you're tirelessly trying to stay steeped in His Word, asking the Holy Spirit to discern your words, thoughts and deeds, you will begin to see the cruelty and hurt that inappropriate jokes can cause. Your blindness will become sighted. You will not want to hurt your fellow co-worker or neighbor.  In fact, you probably will not want to hurt your enemies, as well. You may think about giving a "little guff" back to offensive comments and behaviors, but when all is considered, with His love and compassion at the forefront of your mind, heart and soul, you will, more than likely, turn away and not participate. Your silence can be the most compelling lesson for those watching you. Silence speaks volumes.

So, saints, the next time someone is joking about another person, just walk away. You may soon become the butt of those jokes, but that's why you are here--why you were placed in that situation. I bet you will begin to see others walking away or finding someplace else to be when "the "jokester" takes center stage. Oh, and don't forget to pray for the jokester, as he or she may need attention for some reason we cannot understand. Be blessed!

Scripture for the Day
Romans 12:18-20

If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”

The Love of Jesus is Better Than the Weeds of Sin

Good Morning Saints!
I think summer is finally here, in Denver! 91 degrees is the high for today! Yes! After having my time with the Lord, I tended my garden and pulled weeds. Weeding is a ghastly task! But, it is necessary because weeds choke out my flowers, with their long roots and greediness. That's why we need to weed our temples, too.

Every day, we need to weed our minds, hearts and souls of the "ignorance" and "selfishness" that is ALWAYS waiting to take over. So, when I'm weeding outside, I try to keep in mind that it is a necessary task, in order for my flowers to flourish. In fact, as I think about the necessity of the task and the reward of  my efforts, the task becomes less irritating--I can honestly say, that I end-up humming and enjoying my weeding.

It's hard to look inside your heart and weed-out old hurts, disagreements, jealousies and bad choices, but it is absolutely necessary, and the more you do it, the better you feel. We have to keep in mind that the love of Jesus is better than those stinky old weeds that we, so desperately, try to hold on to. If we can keep our minds focused on Him and how much He loves us, we will be able to weed our thoughts, words and deeds, every day and throughout the day. It will become a necessity in order for us to move forward with our daily walk. Besides, who wants to walk through cow patties when they can walk through a field of lilies? So, yep, that weeding is necessary! Get to work, saints, and know that I am weeding right along with you. Be blessed!

Scripture for the Day
Psalm 51: 10-12
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
