Tired and Ready for a Change

Good Morning Saints!
It's surely hot and humid, here, in Denver! Can you believe it's humid?! Well, chances are, it will be dry and arid by the afternoon:-)

This weekend, I spoke with a friend who was a little disappointed by life. It wasn't that she was happy or sad, but just tired. You know, we all get tired, sometimes. It's a fact of life! When we are tired, depressed or just "blah," about life, we must remember that it is our duty to run this race. It's okay to be tired and know that tomorrow brings another opportunity to work for the Lord. We may not see our jobs or lives as  meaningful to anyone, but there are so many people who depend on you "to be there." You may have never had a conversation with them or even know them, but they know you. For instance, people I've never spoken to, have come to me after a brief absence to let me know that they missed me. When I was younger, I would think, "That's weird." But, not anymore! I have learned that people depend on you whether you know it or not--they are aware of your presence or the lack of it. Your presence may lend stability to their day-to-day existence, so never think that you are meaningless or invisible. Never become too tired to live and press forward, for there are people that depend on "that face--that smile--that presence."

When you are tired, take some time to just breathe and be alone. If that means hiring a trusted babysitter or leaving your kids with your parents, then do so. But, most importantly, make sure you are taking time to commune with the Lord, for your strength comes from Him and Him, alone. Sure, we get a boost from our families and friends, but it cannot sustain us, like the "real boost"---like that "spiritual fruit," we get from prayer, meditation and just being in the Presence of Jesus. If you have ever asked for the Holy Spirit with an open soul and expectant heart, then you know what the Lord can do! Today, I challenge you to reconnect and re-energize through opening heart, mind and soul the One and Only. Blessings, Saints!

Scripture for the Day

Isaiah 40:31

New International Version (NIV)

31 but those who hope in the LORD
   will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
   they will run and not grow weary,
   they will walk and not be faint.
