Boxing for Your Soul!

Good Morning Saints!
It's a pleasure to be able to write this morning! I can feel fall in the air, here in Denver and I love it! Wasn't I just desiring the summer to begin and the blooms to appear, a few months ago?! Yep! Just like the seasons, our desires change, too! I'm so glad that the Lord understands us and loves us, in spite of our tossing and turning.

Today, my heart is set upon the trials and rugged paths that we experience during our walk with the Lord, as they are many and will continue to appear. Why? That's part of the walk. We don't have to go looking for problems, as they will find us! LOL! Yep! You can try as you might, to stay clear of trials, troubles and challenges, but they are there. You can either run or jump into them, "head-first." Now, I will be the first to admit, I may decide to run depending on the problem. But, I know better! The Holy Spirit will be with me in my trials. I have gone through enough of them, to know that this is true! But, even still, I may run. Now, when you run, you have to stop, eventually. So, at least, while you are running, stay in constant prayer and get "fed-up" on His Word, because you are going to need it!

As I have grown older, the running has lessened and the "head-first" approach has increased. But, it took a lot of running to get to this point. In fact, it took running from a situation where my strength was needed, to slow me down and turn me around. It took looking back and feeling like a fool, in order to get me to this point. It took forgiving myself and asking the Lord for forgiveness, to get me to this point. So, nowadays, I may think about running, but mostly, I jump into the boxing ring and come out with the intention of dying before running. Yeah, it feels pretty good, but I get scared and I make sure to look to my "corner" for help and guidance, because I know HE is standing right there, ready to give me Water for my thirst, Balm for my scars, a Mouthguard for my words, and Encouragement for my soul. So, saints, come out boxing, today, and know HE is with you!

Receiving His Gifts and Passing Them On

Good Morning Saints!
It is a beautiful morning, indeed! I am blessed to be able to pray, think, write, speak and spread The Word, this morning. If you are able to read this, you are a blessed, too... Blessed, even in the midst of this chaotic world. Look around you or just look within you and take a few minutes to bow your head in thanks.

Now, as you embrace the gifts and blessings that the Lord has allowed you, think about how those same gifts and blessings can be passed-on to family, friends and co-workers. Yes, you are responsible for passing them on! What good is a gift if you can't use it and share it? It's worthless if the blessing stops with you! It's like burying a light.

Short story:  I have been working steadily in my art studio, creating prayer-filled and inspirational items for everyone and anyone. Now, I have received great advice from people who care about me and my endeavor. The only advice that I have dismissed, concerns my prices. You see, my prices are not high. Why? Who would be able to afford my items? Not very many.... I create for the love of it and my items can be purchased for little, but provide great comfort and spread The Word and encouragement to many. And, I give away a great deal of my work(as much as I can afford, and maybe a little more). Why? I cannot hide the Light that was given to me. I must share it, and so should you! So, saints, get out there and share your gift with others. We house so many free gifts-love, encouraging words, hugs...and the list continues.

What is your gift and how are you sharing it? You don't have to give it away, but make sure it's accessible to all, in some form or shape. Share your gift and give away as much, if not more, than you can afford, for the Lord will fill you right back up, with even more than you had before. I'm a living testimony! Be blessed!

Scripture for the Week

Matthew 5:13-16

New International Version (NIV)
Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

How Does Appearance Affect Your Acceptance of Others?

Good Morning Saints!
For days, my heart has been filled with thoughts of how the outer appearance affects our acceptance of others. To say that it has no affect on our emotions, is ludicrous. We were given eyes as a tool, but how we use them is up to us. Remember, our eyes can be deceiving, as we must see with our hearts. And, when we see with our hearts, it is only with the help of the Holy Spirit. I often wonder about John the Baptist and how his appearance turned heads and wagged tongues. According to the Bible, he didn't much care for fashionable clothing. I wonder if his hair was combed? Did he make sure his clothing was clean and his shoes were polished before stepping out of his cave?

Now, there is nothing wrong with looking fabulous and smelling pleasant, but be careful how you look at others. Some people could care less about their clothing and the latest fashions, but house hearts of gold. See them with your heart and not your eyes, for you belong to the Almighty and must see them through Him. And, let's be frank: Someone has had to try and see you through the eyes of the Almighty, in order to tolerate you. Oh, yes, believe it and receive it!  In Proverbs 4:11-12, we read:  "I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble."

Oh, I am so thankful for this Scripture, for I know that I often see with my eyes and not my heart. I know that I walk on crooked paths when not in accordance with the Holy Spirit. I know that I stumble and stray when I am listening with my eyes and not my heart. So, today, saints, I challenge you to take a good look around you, during your daily tasks at work, grocery shopping, lunch break, or running errands. Who do you see and how do you see them? Do you think less of them if they are not well-groomed, clean, and pleasant looking, by your or society's standards? Does their hair really turn you off? Are their clothes a little worn or not fashionable? What is it that makes you look away from another person--block them out--dismiss their presence? I know that I have fallen short in acceptance and I am humbly sorry and repentant. I'm sure I have missed abundant blessings in my blindness of heart. Won't you come with me in cleansing your heart and correcting your sight? Be blessed.

Scripture for the Week
Proverbs 4:23-25
Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Let your eyes look straight ahead, fix your gaze directly before you.
