A to Z Devotions for Writers

Recently, I had the opportunity to read Pam's latest book: A to Z Devotions for Writers. It is a wonderful read, full of encouragement and prayer for writers. There are actual writing prompts throughout the book and they really pull the reader/writer into participating, which is what all of us writers want.  This is a "real" book of devotions, Scriptures and personal experiences. Each chapter has an inspirational title and houses the following: Scripture, personal anecdote/connection, prayer and writing application.

Christian writers, as well as all writers, will enjoy this book and receive the inspiration they need to move forward in their writing venues. You will keep this book and refer to its contents, often.

The following is an excerpt from one of my favorite chapters, "L is for Light: Writing to Draw others to Jesus":

You are like light for the whole world. Matthew 5:14a

Read Matthew 5: 14-16

Turn on our porch light in the summer months and in a few moments all kinds of moths will automatically move toward the light....

As Christian writers we want our words to be like a porch light in summer--shining in the darkness, drawing our readers in, and inviting them to get to know Jesus. Our books, stories, poems--all that we write--can relate how God loves and cares for us and can attract those who are troubled, hurting, discouraged or searching....

Prayer: Dear God, guide and direct the words that I write today. Infuse them with inspiration from your Spirit that they may light the path for readers who are searching for you. Amen.

Writing Application: using crosswalk.com(or other Bible reference tool), conduct a search for the word, "light" in the Bible. choose one of the verses and journal how it speaks to your heart.

I hope you will allow Pam's guidance to lead you to a deeper and more spiritual place in your writing journey. You may find Pam's book at:
