Giving Thanks

Giving Thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Hello Friends!
Indeed, it has been a while since I have blogged! Today, I am full of thanks and praise. Some would wonder why I am filled with joy, if they knew of the various trials that my family and I have endured. But, because of the tears and hardships, I have grown so much closer to my Father. He has smiled upon me!

Everyday, He shows me new mercies and works miracles in my life and the lives of those around me. He is, indeed, a Miracle-Worker and I praise Him and love Him. I see His Hand moving in my life, day-by-day and I remind myself to move out of His way and trust Him to do "a work" in me. Of course, I always have to remind myself that He is in control, not me! Smiles.  So, every day, I look to the Lord for strength to renew my faith, love and hope.

Giving thanks!!!! I am thankful to be clothed in my right mind and privileged to be able think upon Him, day-by-day.

Please, take a few minutes to tell me what you are thankful for, in this season of life?

Take a few minutes to listen to Jamie Grace!

The Turning of Pages in Life

Hello Friends,
It has, indeed, been a while since I have made an entry....But, I have thoroughly enjoyed my summer. I've spent time with my Lord, family and friends. Oh, and how I have been reading new and interesting books! I guess you could call this past few months a "turning of the page" in my life. This month, we will become empty-nesters, as my youngest leaves for college. My husband and I have been thinking about how life will change and what we will do with its changes. My thoughts are centering on short trips to different parts of the map and my husband is concentrating on working less. This is an exciting time and I will embrace all of the new adventures that are sure to grace my path. How many of you are taking-on and welcoming the "turning of pages" in your lives?

Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel Fine~

Good Morning Friends,
Yesterday, I set-out a few flowers and put all of my pots together. This is the latest I have ever waited to get my summer gardening started. As I spent the day working in my yard, there was a contentment and oneness that can only come from the Lord. There was a gentle summer breeze all day long and my spirit drank-in the day, as though it was a tall glass of cold water. I was thirsty for the Lord, the silence and the outside work. In Denver, the blooms are a little late, compared to the Midwest and South. Most of my flowers have not bloomed, but just seeing the small buds and foliage is enough to make me smile. Here are a couple of photos of my work, yesterday. It's a work in progress! Much Joy!!!!

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Enjoy one of my favorite tunes!

Scars and Blessings~

Scars and Blessings~

Dear Friends,
This month, I have been looking back over my life, contemplating the many trials and joys throughout the years. Now, the joys are quickly remembered and celebrated without pause. However, the trials....there are a few trials that have left deep scars. But, honestly, I can no longer recall the intensity of the pain I must have felt during those times. And, I know that this distant and faint recollection is a mercy-healing from Jesus.
Oh, don't get me wrong--I remember the prayer,
worry and crying-out for deliverance,
but the Lord has covered those times with His awesome
grace and mercy.
His grace and mercy have soothed my mind and anointed my scars.
The deep scars of life have bloomed into magnificent blessings that I could not have dreamed of asking for
or even imagined.  Joy, joy, joy!  These ugly scars have become vibrant hues of watercolors that have washed my life with love and deep joy, despite the pain. Now, I can reach out and touch the place where the scars once were...and, feel the smoothness and understand their purpose.
As Catherine Doherty would say, "'s a Kiss from Christ~"
What a blessing and privilege!
I invite you to look back over your life and give thanks
for the scars and blessings
that have brought you to where you are today.

Living Art and Faith~

Good Afternoon Friends!
Today, I am inspired by a few posts I have read over at
Barbie's Freshly Brewed Life.  Her latest post discusses becoming Living Art for the Lord. What a wonderful subject! In order to become His living art, we have to be in-touch with our Father, which means we have to slow down and "just be" in His presence. Yes, we should continue our ministries, work and family life, also, but we must make time to sit at the feet of our Father.  At His feet, is where we praise, give thanks, learn, listen, rest and renew.  This is where I find inspiration for my His feet...steeped in His continual praise.

10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

God Has Smiled on All of Us~

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!

Good Morning Friends,
     Today, I am linking up with a few of my favorite blogs. It is a blessing to be able to write and express my feelings, today. I take nothing for granted....  I am so thankful for my life and my experiences, whether they have been uplifting or torturous, for they have made me who I am, today, a child of God.

     I feel the Lord working and moving in me when I am still, quiet and open.  It takes work for me to get to this place and  sometimes, the interruptions are plentiful. But, it is worth the work to get there. When I am in this place, I find myself NOT asking, praying, lamenting or worrying. I just "soak-up" His Presence and "hold-on." You know, this is the way I live and survive. It's a place of peace and praise. I treasure this time, as it is my Soul Food. I am not fully nourished without it and my day is disturbed when I miss it. My soul mourns and my perspective is self-centered when I forgo my communion with Him.

     After my stillness with the Lord, I spend my day creating "Praise-Art" and enjoying songs of praise, in the process. Today, I will share a few songs of praise that lift and speak to my heart and soul. I hope you enjoy them, too. Be blessed my friends~
